National Democratic Union

In the early 2900s, the National Sovereignty Protection League collapsed and now, nearly ten years later, the National Democratic Union has revived the NSPL. The NSPL is an international political organization that supports the integrity of national governments and opposes multinational unions which have power over national governments. The new NSPL has been headquartered at one of the offices in the Stoltenberg Building in Kien.

In a surprise to many, the National Democratic Union backed the Fascist candidate, Friedrich Ewald II, in the Second Round of the 2800 Elections. Chairwoman Villiger stated, "We've seen some partisan remarks from the CLA in the last couple years, and while its all solved and the unity coalition has been restored, they still, in our party's opinion, don't qualify for Governor-General right now. Some of the best years in Greater Hulstrian history were under Fascist Administrations and after it having been so long since we've had one, its about time to bring them back. Unemployment has risen, ultra-liberal policies have become law, and that all needs to change."

"The world in these last few years of the century has seen the rise of dozens of communist nations. Currently the count of communist rule around the world is eight. The most recent addition to international communism, our ally Vorona. Earlier this fall, their constitutional monarchy was overthrown and militarily couped by the Red Guards of Vorona. Greater Hulstria must have no deals with communists! We have proposed that our nation withdrawal from our security and trade agreements with Vorona. Unfortunately though, already it seems that some politicians in Greater Hulstria feel that we should keep our deals with the communist republicans. These same politicians are the ones talking about intervention in Luthori to stop a minor republican party that isn't even in the majority. The Socialists seem to have an exception for socialistic republicanism and want to let it go, even though the case of Vorona is what would happen if the Luthori republicans were in power. The Nationals have it right in their statement that 'communism and socialism share common roots'. These current affairs should bring into question the true intentions of the Socialists and whether they support democracy, or communism. There is no reason to remain close to Vorona, our relations with them are over and must remain in that state until the return of their constitutional monarchy. And we must treat every communist nation in this way, no relations, no deals. Freedom must be defended from the threat of communism and any belief originating from Marx!"

In the recent elections, the National Party incumbent for Governor-General, Vincenz Weiter, was reelected for his third term. The National Democrats gave him an endorsement for the Second Round. The NDU releases its official congratulations to Governor-General Weiter on his reelection and continued rule over Greater Hulstria.

Ahead of next years elections, a fundraiser was held in Graaffsberg, Mitrania. The event was largely successful and will help fund campaigning when it begins next Summer.
